Jeopardy! Tonight (Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026): Jen Spinoglio's First Defense, Air Times by City

Matthew Riggle spent two nights of premiere week looking like the story of the fall. He walked off Wednesday with $199, beaten on a Latin root, and the champion's lectern now belongs to a financial researcher who had never won a game before.
Jen Spinoglio makes her first defense tonight, Thursday, Sept. 17, in Season 43's fourth episode. She has one win, $10,801 and a clean Final Jeopardy! record that is exactly one clue long. Our week-by-week Jeopardy! page has every night of this week in one place, and Wednesday's full scores show how the streak came apart.
Who is playing Jeopardy! tonight?
Jeopardy.com posted the lineup Thursday morning. Two of the three have never stood on the stage before.
| Player | From | Does |
|---|---|---|
| Jen Spinoglio (champ) | San Francisco, Calif. | Financial researcher |
| Christie Ritten | La Grange Park, Ill. | Actuary |
| Mark Ramirez | Northglenn, Colo. | Executive communications lead |
An actuary and a financial researcher at the same podium row is a coincidence the writers could not have arranged. Ken Jennings hosts, as he has every night of the season.

How good is the new champion, really?
One game is a thin sample, but it was a tidy one. The Jeopardy! Fan credits Spinoglio with 21 correct responses against four wrong — 84 percent of everything she rang in on — and an average Coryat of $10,600.
Riggle, on the same board, went 19 and five. That is 79 percent, and he was the four-day champion. She also bet her Final to the dollar: $201, the exact amount needed to survive Riggle doubling up. Nobody who does that by accident does it twice.
Where one win sits against the show's history is on our longest Jeopardy! winning streaks page. The short answer: a long way down.
What time is Jeopardy! on tonight?
There is no national start time. Stations buy the show and drop it where they like, which is why Chicago watches before dinner and Boston watches after it.
| City | Station | Local start |
|---|---|---|
| New York | WABC | 7:00 p.m. |
| Los Angeles | KABC | 7:00 p.m. |
| Philadelphia | WPVI | 7:00 p.m. |
| Boston | WBZ | 7:30 p.m. |
| Chicago | WLS | 3:30 p.m. |
Your own station is in our air-time guide. Wheel of Fortune is new tonight as well, usually in the neighboring half hour — its week-by-week page carries each night's bonus answer.
What went wrong in Detroit this week?
Detroit viewers have now had two bad nights in three. WDIV Local 4 lost the Season 43 premiere to a technical fault on Monday — watchers described contestants changing mid-episode — and rebroadcast the whole thing at 2 a.m. Wednesday, which the station called the earliest slot it could find.
The Jeopardy! Fan reported Thursday that the station has apologized again after a second mistake inside three nights. If you are in southeast Michigan, set the recorder and check it before you delete it.
👉 Tonight's result posts here after the East Coast broadcast — the full scores land on our nightly results page around 5 p.m. ET.
What is left of premiere week?
